I am preparing to travel to Australia on a Working Holiday Visa (subclass 417) and plan to bring my DJI drone with me. I understand that to fly legally in Australia, I need to register my drone and complete the Operator Accreditation through a myCASA account.
However, I am currently unable to create a myCASA account because:
- The verification via myID requires an Identity Strength level that I cannot achieve as a non-resident
- My visa (subclass 417) is not accepted for verification in the myID process
- All other verification options listed are only available for Australian citizens or residents
Since I cannot complete the verification outside Australia, I am worried that I may not be able to register my drone or obtain the required accreditation in time, which could cause issues when entering the country with my drone.
Could you please advise me on how I can successfully create a myCASA account and complete the necessary registration and accreditation as an international visitor? Is it possible to finalize this process after I arrive in Australia?
