My employee earns $48,000 P/A. He wants me to pay him $30000 as Superannuation and the remaining $18,000 as normal payment. Is that allowed?

The ATO page below says there's no limit, @mrnhodge , over and above your employer's payments. It's the employee's responsibility to know the implications of exceeding the contribution caps, reducing their taxable income too far, etc..
Exactly, @knaresbro, if the employee wants to salary sacrifice $30,000 of their $48,000 annual salary to a complying super fund, the employer still has to pay SG on the $48,000, as per the recently updated ATO OTE guidance. 😉 Deanne
