I am 67, couldn't get a salaried employment so far this financial year and looks like I am unlikely to get one. I took a contract job in my son's business for office signage fit-out for $400 fixed sum and got paid. As it is a contract job, no super contribution was paid to me for this payment. It took me two weeks to complete the job, spending more than 40 hrs. I will report this earning in my tax return along with other incomes. When asked about Work Test compliance, my super fund said they would only report my Intention to Claim tax deduction and wouldn't know anything about Work Test compliance. Question: does my above work comply with Work Test requirements?

Are you trying to make concessional (tax-deductible) contributions or non-concessional contributions. If the former, I am not sure that you have passed the work test as it requires 40 hours work in a continuous 30-day period as the amount of income you received appears to be about $10/hour and it is from a relative and may not pass the smell test. It is still early in the year so you may pick up some work. I would have a look at the work test section on the ATO website - it's pretty good.
