I am currently living in Argentina, and I am having difficulties accessing my myGov account, which has become unlinked from the ATO.

I am in the process of lodging my tax return, but I am unable to contact your office by phone since I do not have an Australian phone number at the moment.

It would be a great help if you could please guide me on how to resolve this issue or reconnect my myGov account with the ATO.

This matter is very important to me..

Please note that I do have the myGov Code Generator app active, in case that helps with the verification process.

Hi @cabreravictoria,


Since you have the myGov Code Generator app active, you can use this to sign in to your myGov account.


To reconnect your myGov account to the ATO, you'll need to:

  1. Sign in to myGov using your username, password and the code from your myGov Code Generator app.
  2. Select 'Services' and then 'Link a service'.
  3. Choose ATO from the list.
  4. Follow the prompts to verify your identity.
