Hi, I am an international student. I need to do the 'MyGov Commonwealth Declaration' as a part of my current part time job. But when I tried to do it through, my.gov.au it is saying that my digital id has only basic strength. As an international student I don't have Australian Passport, license, etc. Could anyone please tell me any alternatives to strenghthen my digital id.

Hey Neil

Do you mean a tax declaration or a statutory declaration?

Your employer can provide the tax declaration form. Doing Statutory Declarations online is still quite new, so your Digital Identity may not be strong enough.

You can fill out a paper Statutory Declaration or print one out form the Attorney General's website then have it witness by a Justice of the Peace or other authorised witness (there is a list on the form). This service is free and there are JPs at many shopping centres, libraries, banks, and post offices. The Justice department in your State maintains an after hours list

of volunteers if you need help out of hours.
