Hi @KARL3000
Yes, a tax agent can act as your representative to claim a DASP on your behalf and deal with the ATO and super funds if issues arise. To do this, the tax agent must be registered with the Tax Practitioners Board and have completed an Agreement for departing Australia superannuation payments with us.
The tax agent will need written authority from you before they can apply on your behalf. They must register this authority with us by adding you to their client list in Online services for agents. The tax agent can then use the DASP online intermediary application system to submit electronic DASP claims for both fund-held and ATO-held super.
Through this system, the tax agent can confirm your eligibility to apply for a DASP, locate your super accounts, generate an electronic DASP claim, and deal directly with super funds or us on your behalf.
To proceed, provide your tax agent with written authority to act on your behalf. Ensure they've completed the DASP intermediary agreement with us so they can access the system to lodge your claim and resolve any issues that arise.
