Hi @lukeblenman,

If child support intercepts your tax refund of $3,690 and you only owe $2,000, the remaining $1,690 should be returned to you.

When your tax return is processed, we may use your refund to offset debts you owe to other Australian Government agencies, including child support. We'll only use the amount needed to cover your actual debt. Any remaining balance from your refund will be paid to you in the usual way.

You can check your tax account through ATO online services to see the final outcome of your tax return and confirm what's been offset. If you have questions about the specific child support debt amount, you'll need to contact Services Australia directly, as they manage child support arrangements.
