Hi I have recently departed Australia and would like to apply for the DASP so have been trying to do so through the online system. This has just left me a bit confused as to what information I need to provide as there is a lot of conflicting advice from what I can see. Basically, which information do you need to provide relating to which super fund? (e.g how many of SPIN, USI etc) and also how are you meant to provide all employer information through the online system? The system only lets you provide information for one employer per fund but what if more than one employer contributed? The help page for the department of home affairs states you need to attach sheets of paper with this info but I am trying to apply online? An answer to a similar question on this community seems to suggest that you should just leave this section blank in this case. Some clarity on this would be greatly appreciated, Thanks in advance.

Hi @BillyF,

When you apply through the DASP online application system, you'll need to provide your super fund's Australian business number (ABN). The system can search for the ABN based on the fund's name, or you can use Super Fund Lookup to find the fund's postal address and ABN. You don't need to provide multiple identifiers like SPIN or USI – the ABN is sufficient for the online system to process your application.

For employer information, the online system will automatically present applications for each super account found during the search. You must supply as much additional information as possible, such as the super fund number, the fund's client identification and the date you joined the fund. Your superannuation statements should help you find this information.

The instruction about attaching sheets of paper with employer details applies to paper form applications only, not to the online system. When you're using the DASP online application system, you provide the information digitally through the system fields. If you had multiple employers contributing to one fund, the system captures the fund-level information rather than requiring separate entries for each employer.

Before submitting your DASP application, check with your employer to confirm they've paid all the super they're required to. Employers must make super contributions on a quarterly basis, so you should verify that all contributions have been paid into your fund before submitting your application.

Thanks so much thats very helpful. Just in regard to the multiple employers contributing to one fund, should I leave the employer section blank then? or just provide one employer?
