It has been 12 business days (everything I’ve read says 10-12 days) and the status on return has not changed.

It is still showing: In progress - Processing.

There is no estimated date underneath the drop down and I have not been advised that the ATO need more time.

This has never happened before and I’m wondering what the hold up is and why I have had no communication on what’s happening.

This status might pop up at two points during processing.

We’ve got your return and started processing it

We’ve finalised your return and will issue your notice of assessment.


Do you have access to your account without having to call us to get access?

I'm up to 19 days & no change to my status or effective date since the 16th July- my effective date was the 24th July. I've spoken to them on 3 occasions now & every time I have been told that the hold-up was due to needing to identify me & confirming I had lodged the return myself. But still no changes. Have you tried to call them?
